bubble gum.

The History of Bubble Gum:

In 1928, a man by the name of Walter Diemer invented bubble gum. "It was an accident." he said, "I was doing something else." He was working as an accountant for Fleer Chewing Gum Company in Philadelphia. In his spare time, he would mess around with different chewing gum recipes. One day, he carried a five pound glob of it into a grocery store, and sold out in one afternoon. Before long, Fleer was marketing Diemer's creation. Diemer himself was teaching his fellow salesmen to blow bubbles. Gilbert Mustin, President of Fleer, named it Dubble Bubble. Fleer sold 1.5 million dollars worth of it, until Bazooka Bubble Gum came along.
